Josh Hamlyn
Writer and Producer
Hello. My name is Joshua Hamlyn, and I am the writer and producer for Luctatio Productions. I am excited to work with this team and to tell the unique story of Kiara Djoumessi’s journey as an Iowa high school girls' wrestler.
I am originally from Waterloo, IA. Wartburg was my top choice for continuing my education after high school. Wartburg initially piqued my interest because of positive past experiences during choir festivals and visits. My decision to come to Wartburg was solidified by the variety of opportunities available to be involved on campus and develop as a professional.
Throughout my time at Wartburg, I have had the honor of serving in a variety of leadership roles. I served as the executive producer of Knight Vision News, sports director at Your Sound 89.9 KWAR and as vice president of the Ritterchor tenor bass choir.
During my time at Wartburg, I have been invested in sports coverage in all forms of media. I assisted in sports coverage of the Knights by writing and producing stories for Trumpet, Knight Vision News, and Knight Wire. I also have been a part of the broadcast teams covering a variety of Wartburg sporting events both regular and post-season on Knight Vision. I have also hosted a sports-based radio show called the Sports Desk on Your Sound 89.9 KWAR during all four years of college.
During my free time you will find me watching sports at high school, college, and or pro levels in person or on TV, putting together Lego projects, watching movies, or hanging out with family or friends. I have always found documentaries to be a great way to tell impactful sports stories. Luctatio Productions gets an opportunity to do that with this story and I am looking forward to producing it.
