Rachel Patton

Hello, I am Rachel Patton, and I am the Digital Producer for Luctatio Productions. The focus for this semester is creating a documentary based on Iowa Girls Wrestling to capture the first year of girls wrestling after being sanctioned. 

Outside of that role, I also am in other groups for all three of my classes this semester and I am part owner of a family business called “Patton’s Puppies.” My major is Journalism and Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Graphic design.  

I am from Story City, Iowa and have moved 5 times in my life so I have been all over Iowa. I enjoy doing diamond art, doing videography for all sports, and taking pictures of nature. I have a passion for videography, specifically for sports and I love capturing the beauty of nature. I have studied air pollution for the last 7 years of my life because there is a lot of air pollution that can be changed to help keep the earth clean.  

I am so excited for this semester and to work with the girls wrestling program to be able to capture a huge thing is women sports.  

I am from Story City, Iowa and my parents are Matt and Nicole Patton. I plan to work in videography for an NFL team, but I will start with a D1 college football team. I will miss the personal feeling you have when you are on campus because you get to know your teachers and classmates better than you would at a big college.
